About me

Hi, I'm Bethany! I'm a certified horticulturalist, permaculturalist and herbalist who is passionate about holistic gardening. I specialize in edible, medicinal, and native plant-focused gardens which benefit people, wildlife, and the planet. In my practice, I emphasize soil and water stewardship, biodiversity enhancement as well as the protection or creation of habitats for vital wildlife such as pollinators.

Why Grow...

Edible, Medicinal and Native Plants

Edible Plants

Growing edible plants promotes food security in an everchanging and unstable world. Cultivating your own produce reduces reliance on external food sources and contributes to a more sustainable world. It also improves human health through physical engagement and access to nutritious, chemical-free foods.

Edible, Medicinal and Native Plants

Medicinal Plants

Growing medicinal plants strengthens one's health sovereignty by giving access to natural remedies, often with fewer side effects than pharmaceutical drugs. It cultivates a connection with traditional practices,  encourages garden biodiversity and offers more ecologically-friendly alternatives for our health.

Edible, Medicinal and Native Plants

Native Plants

Growing native plants is the best way to increase biodiversity in your garden since they've evolved symbiotic relationships with beneficial local wildlife. They're better suited for our coastal environment, are lower maintenance, require less water, improve soil health and are more resilient to our changing climate.
