Meet Bethany

I am the Instructor of permaculture at the Pacific Horticulture College and the lead steward of the public permaculture garden at the Horticulture Center of the Pacific. I hold a Permaculture Design Certificate and a Permaculture Teacher Certificate.

I have a diploma in permaculture design and education from the Permaculture Institute and love to inspire others about sustainable gardening through my teaching.

I received a certificate in Landscape Horticulture from the Pacific Horticulture College and was honoured to receive their Excellence in Design award.

I completed a 10 month herbalist apprenticeship at Ravensong Herbals and studied Alchemical Herbalism at The School of Evolutionary Herbalism.

I am a certified FireSmart™ Ambassador with hands-on experience designing and teaching wildfire-resilient gardening practices.

Practising ecological horticulture and permaculture, all my designs strongly emphasize soil and water stewardship and prioritize the inclusion of native species. They also focus on the creation or preservation of habitats for beneficial wildlife such as birds and pollinators to help turn your garden into an ecosystem. Using my specialized knowledge of climate-resilient, edible, medicinal, native and pollinator-supporting plants to create visually stunning and practical landscapes that offer sustenance and sanctuary for people, wildlife, and the planet.

My Design Philosphy
