About This Class:

This class will share how permaculture can specifically be applied to ornamental gardens and how it can help you become a more sustainable and eco-friendly gardener. You'll learn how to create lower maintenance, lower input and extra beautiful outdoor spaces as well as a variety of innovative techniques, valuable tips, and expert advice will be shared by horticulturist and permaculturist Bethany Couture. Whether you're a novice or an experienced gardener, this class will inspire you to look at your garden in a more holistic way and will help you begin to cultivate a more harmonious relationship between you, your garden and the environment. Don't miss this unique opportunity to enhance your gardening skills and contribute to a greener future. This class includes a guided walk through the beautiful gardens at the Horticulture Center of the Pacific to see some of these practices in action. 

 

About the Instructor:
Bethany Couture is a holistic horticulturalist from Victoria BC. Through her studies, she realized there must be more sustainable ways to work with the land, which led her down the path of permaculture and wove together her passions for horticulture, herbalism, mycology, self-sufficiency and environmental sustainability. She is the lead steward of the permaculture garden at the Horticulture Center of the Pacific and is the permaculture instructor at the Pacific Horticulture College. She also runs her own horticulture business, Garden Alchemist, which designs landscapes abundant with edible, medicinal, and native plants.
